The General Plan Update analyzes land use patterns across the City and proposes modest changes - in certain areas - to promote cohesive neighborhoods, districts, and corridors across Indio. The proposed changes are summarized below.

The City of Indio and its consultant team lead by Raimi + Associates has completed an update to the previous draft General Plan document. The updated document addresses suggestions previously provided by the Indio community together with additional ideas developed by City staff and the consultant team. We encourage you to review the draft document and get involved in the community conversations as it moves forward to adoption by the City Council.

The Indio Climate Action Plan (CAP) is a roadmap for how the City will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This CAP quantifies greenhouse gas emissions from the Indio 2040 General Plan, describes the scientific and regulatory context, analyzes strategies and actions within the General Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and specifies a group of measures to achieve the greenhouse gas targets established by the plan. These measures support a healthy and vibrant community.

The City of Indio (Lead Agency) prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) for its 2040 General Plan Update (the “Project”) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines (14 California Code of Regulations Section 15060(d)). This FEIR addresses the potential environmental impacts associated with implementation of the broad policies included in the Project, and address letters and comments provided by other agencies and the public.
